WEEK 12 WAIVER WIRE

Here we are - under 24 Hours until the deadline. Owners have already made up their minds on whether they're ALL-IN or prepping for next year... so who's on the wire you should target? Let's see who's out there....

QUARTERBACKS

  1. Jake Browning Cincinatti Bengals vs Pittsburgh This is a longshot. Burrow is done for the year, which makes Browning the top target in our waiver pool for QBs. It's by no means an exciting name to have at the top of the list, but there just aren't enough starting QB's to go around. The Begnals have the most lethal pass attack of all the teams with QBs on the wire - we'll see if Browning can stay true to his statline from last week.

  2. Desmond Ridder Atlanta Falcons vs New Orleans Taylor Heinicke is recovering from a hamstring tweak, but Ridder has been announced as the starting QB for the rest of the season by Coach Smith. I'm not sure I like that move for the Falcons (unless they're intentionally trying to lose for a better draft pick) which doesn't make sense because they're one game back from the Division Leader - the New Orleans Saints. Good luck if you need a QB... you're better off trading for one.

RUNNINGBACKS

  1. Samaje Perine Denver Broncos vs Cleveland Perine has emerged as the Broncos Passing-Down Back. Last week, he had 7 catches for 70yds and 1 carry - it's clear that Javonte Williams is the primary rusher, and Jaleel McLaughlin is in the same boat as Perine - earning his keep. Cleveland has one of the better Defenses in the league, so Denver may need to get creative with how they're moving the ball... Perine could be the streaming option you need this week.

  2. Elijah Mitchell San Fransisco 49ers vs Seattle This has nothing to do with points this week - Elijah Mitchell should be a bench stash for any serious contender with an extra bench slot. Mitchell will take over RB1 duties if anything happens to McCaffrey - whether he's resting, or injured. With 9-man benches, you can afford to waste one on a guy you might need in Week 15 or 16... because if you wait until CMC goes down, it will be too late.

WIDE RECEIVERS

  1. Khalil Shakir Buffalo Bills vs Philadelphia This will be a tough game for the Bills to get things moving offensively - Philly doesn't have the most dangerous pass rush, but they have a solid secondary. Shakir's position on the depth chart means he won't be going up against the top DB's from Philly in one-on-one matchups, which could make him a preferred target for Josh Allen this week. Shakir caught three of his four passes for 115yds and a TD last week - outside of his game against Denver, Sharkit is consistently getting looks (and making catches).

  2. Robert Woods Houston Texans vs Jacksonville I'll stand strong on my Woods favoritism. Stroud is looking good as a rookie QB, and Woods is now two weeks removed from a foot injury. He took over the targets for Noah Brown, who is dealing with a knee injury and could miss this Sunday's matchup. Woods had 5 catches on 8 targets for 44yds last week; he will still need to duel Nico Collins and Tank Dell, but you can expect Woods to be back in the offensive rotation.

TIGHT ENDS

  1. Pat Freiermuth Pittsburgh Steelers vs Cincinatti Freiermuth brought in his only target last week for 7yds, but he was in his first game back after two stints on IR. Let him warm up - he'll be the TE you're looking for on the waiver wire. He's got a favorable matchup against an anemic Bengals D/ST who has given up the third-most targets and yards to TE's this year... and he's due for a TD. (Don't forget Matt Canada was fired earlier this week

  2. Michael Mayer Las Vegas Raiders vs Kansas City There's a handful of rookie TE's who are making their mark on the league - and Michael Mayer is one of them. Aiden O'Connell threw some trust his way this week, linking up on 4 of 5 passes for 46yds. I thought Miami would control the game, but Vegas held onto the ball for nearly half the game. Miami had over 100yds more than Vegas, but the Raiders need to approach the game the same way if they want a chance against the Chiefs - ball control.

DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAMS

  1. Minnesota Vikings vs Chicago Chicago's offense looked halfway decent against the Lions - and their Defense came away with 3 INT's. Not typical for the Bears on all fronts - maybe that's because it was Detroit. This will be a test for the Vikings - if Chicago comes out with the same fire they did against the Lions.

  2. Tennessee Titans vs Carolina Tennessee doesn't have the best defense - but the Carolina Panthers have the worst offense. This is a no-brainer flyer if you need one - but don't expect much after this week. The Titans have two games against the Texans left on their schedule - along with three other playoff-contenders.

KICKERS

  1. Jason Sanders Philadelphia Eagles vs Buffalo Miami has the highest scoring offense in the league. That means POINTS - something most Kickers only get noticed if they aren't putting them on the board. So why is Sanders on the waivers? Good question...

  2. Matt Prater Arizona Cardinaols vs Los Angeles (N) Prater has found significance now that the Cardinals offense is moving the ball once again. Just like Sanders... points are important. Prater could be your darkhorse that saves you a championship.
